About Lost Connection !

The idea, as well as the header picture, were stolen (!) from an artist who was exposing at the Modern Art Biennale in Venice in Sep 2007. No idea which artist, or even in which country’s pavilion I found it but there you go art is made to be shared…

So when I created the blog, I was going through my recent pictures trying to find something vaguely appealing to put in as a header and came across that one. In reality the art piece looks like a huge showcase made of loads of electrical appliances, very colourful, all spinning round and saying the same thing: ‘lost’ on some of them, and ‘connection’ on the others.

It reminds us of our inherent loneliness. But loneliness is something we all learn to live in peace with, that’s why the art piece is lively, colourful, quite merry really. It’s a nice way to show that we all kind of feel the same, and all worry at some point that we might be lonely or slightly different, so we feel the urge to show it, to talk about it, to express it. So really what do we do when we feel disconnected? We connect with other people. Ah, so where’s the disconnection again? Thankfully it’s never lost for too long.
